LUNA NEEDS SURGERY!!!! ASAP!
Hello friends. Many of you have met Luna. Luna was a “last chance” rescue from Oklahoma. She is 5 years old.
She has a torn Cranial Cruciate Ligament; this would be the equivalent of a torn ACL in humans.
She is extremely active and landed in a weird way while playing fetch. Genetics also play a huge factor in why this happened to her.
Unfortunately, Luna needs corrective surgery ASAP…..the longer we wait, the less likely recovery will be. Because of her young age, this surgery (99% success rate) is the only way to ensure she will be able to run again. Her other leg is at risk of the same injury while she favors it.
If Luna doesn’t get the surgery she needs, more scar tissue will develop and the joint instability will worsen. Running will not be possible, and walking would be difficult and…
